March 23rd’s Chicago Tribune editorial about Cook County’s ill-conceived changes to the 6b financial incentive program is spot on – and the reason I vehemently fought against it. As the editorial notes, the onerous requirements destroy the effectiveness of this program, especially in a border district like ours. The 14th District borders Lake County, is minutes from McHenry County and 24 minutes from the Wisconsin boarder. This program, as originally drafted, allows us to be competitive.
