Green Governing

Commissioner Goslin is dedicated to finding environmental best practices across the country and implementing them here at the County. He serves as chairman of the National Association of Counties’ Green Government Initiative, which is charged with assisting counties in their efforts to protect the environment while saving taxpayer money and improving services.

Commissioner Goslin is enthusiastic about taking a leadership role in this important field, and using this opportunity to help ensure Cook County emerges on the forefront of responsible, economical and green governing.

In that vein, Commissioner Goslin put forward the Chicago Botanic Garden as the host site for the May, 2010 Forum on the Green Economy. This forum brought together officials and staff from counties across the U.S. to share and learn about strategies and technology available for implementing and encouraging green activities throughout our communities.
