To professionalize, modernize and privatize Cook County government

Provide efficient, effective, economical and compassionate management of County business

Partner with other units of government and the private sector to develop regional solutions for regional issues

Provide citizens with the necessary tools to access and be served by the resources of Cook County government

I have voted on thousands of matters of importance to the citizens of the 14th District and of Cook County, since I took my oath of office on December 7, 1998. Now in my third term,

I have…

• worked to control real estate taxes by increasing the efficiency of county government,
• sponsored and supported measures which promote professionalism throughout county government;
• protected our forest preserves by opposing the sale of non-surplus FPD land, and encouraging management based on science and consultation with professional conservationists and botanists.
• By supporting and encouraging the establishment of a primary care clinic in Palatine Township, and in other locations through the county, I have worked to make Cook County government more compassionate, by bringing services to citizens in their own communities.
